The desire to gain additional height has been tested through several methods. Topping the list are stretching exercises, height inducing multivitamins and supplements and surgery although nothing beats the instant height increase that could be gained through the use of height increasing shoes.

While the natural methods at increasing height is a good choice, the time, money and effort that is required of the person undergoing the activity could often prove restrictive that failed results are common. The possibility of a setback once additional height is achieved is also present.

Previously though, the use of elevator shoes was practiced on a limited scale catering only to a definite clientele. This practice is further limited due to the limitation in design, comfort and general satisfactoriness that is often attributed to the less natural appearance of the shoe.

Nonetheless, as height became more an emphasis on fashion and the technology for the manufacture of better shoes became more available, people started noticing elevator shoes as an alternative to gaining height instantly.

Cynicism though still remains and understandably so. People who have tried wearing lift shoes though were surprised that its producers took every care possible so that nobody tells the difference between a lift shoe and a regular one; the quality, presentation and materials are among the best that popular people and celebrities are wearing it without attracting attention.

The designs carried by elevator shoes today vary to furnish to virtually every fit, function and material. Styles run up to hundreds serving all requirements of garb and activity where a major focus in the craftsmanship is to make height increasing shoes looking and feeling just like any ordinary pair of shoes.

As with any shoe, height increasing shoes are manufactured in pretty much the same way as regular shoes. There is the upper, midsole, outer sole but the dissimilarity is in the internal riser or internal build up that makes for the insole. The internal riser provides the shoes with the height that could vary from one inch to four inches.

Detachable removable insoles are also popular choices for people who want to have that added height to their regular shoes. This is a sole pad that is inserted in the instep of the shoe to provide the wearer the increased height.

For hygienic reasons, detachable insoles have to be replaced after numerous uses.

While height increasing shoes were originally intended to be marketed to shorter people, its comfort, lightweight, the elegance, presentation and care given to each shoe (many of these are handmade and comes in genuine leather), has been attracting even taller people.

Flatfooted people walk better in these shoes too.

The only down side to height increasing shoes is that it provides only the illusion of height, but with the illusion comes improved posture, better appearance, better health, being more stylish and most of all, confidence.
