Spray Tan Tips -Information and Tips
Most of the spray tan tips revolve around the preparatory stages for the tanning session, meaning exfoliation most of the time. However, without denying the importance of exfoliation, there are lots of other spray tan tips that apply to the period post treatment. Here are a few suggestions that may help you get a tan that will withstand for more than a week.
The dead skin cells have to be eliminated from the skin surface before applying the tan, and this can only be achieved by an exfoliating scrub. Some spray tanning tips refer to the importance of insisting on the elbows and knees because these are the body parts that could get an uneven look after tanning. Do not apply any hydrating lotion on the body after the exfoliation because some of the oils prevent the tanning reaction and your skin will not turn brown.
Then, remove all jewels before entering the tanning booth, because some of them could get stained if in contact with the tanning agents. Moreover, you should be aware that clothes could get stained as well because of the bronzers; it is best not to wear anything white or light-colored and once you get home, wash the items immediately to prevent advanced blotching.
The tanning process doesn’t take more than a minute. Once you are out of the booth, the nails, the palms and the soles of the feet have to be carefully wiped from all color excess. You need to go through these steps really quickly because the tanning solution dries fast and you’ll remain with bronzer or tan excess.
Although some of the tanning agents act immediately, many spray tan tips advise tanners not to shower for at least six hours. This time interval is optimal to let the chemicals do their work at the skin surface. If you bathe or shower sooner, the tanning may not be over. Avoid tanning if you suffer from allergies or contact dermatitis, and should you follow any dermatological treatment, ask for the doctor’s advice before tanning.
Good spray tan tips are also available for the maintenance of the tan. For instance, you should take only short showers and with warm water only. Too much soap can also cause the tan to fade because the glow remains only at the very superficial skin layer. If the top dermal cells peel off, then, the tanning effect is over too!
